From Initial Agreements, to Exploration, Discovery, Who Should Attend: Project managers, field personnel, executive officers, technology managers, budget managers, engineers, explorationists, field accounting supervisors. Learning Expectations: Participants learn the disciplined steps that are required to initiate a an oil and gas project and see the project to a successful conclusion starting from initial host country agreements, through the time the oil and gas is discovered and to the final investment decision. This course combines formal lectures along with workshop assignments. The participants are divided into teams that follow an orderly process through workshop sessions, making presentations as they seek to pass through the project phases during the development process. The workshop is a realistic business exercise that integrates upstream technology, risk assessment, and project economics by tracking each team’s investment decisions and the financial outcome of those decisions over the development and 25-year production period.
