PP05
Fundamentals of Wireline Formation Testing Who Should Attend: Geologists, petrophysicists, wellsite supervisors, hydrodynamic specialists, reservoir engineers, geophysicists, and geodata interpretation technologists of multidisciplinary formation evaluation and development teams that are engaged hydrocarbon discovery and reservoir management. Learning Expectations: The course provides a comprehensive understanding of wireline formation testing technologies (RFT, RCI, RDT, MDT, FRT, etc), service providers, tool/gauge types, measurement principles and physics, the use of pressure data for fluid ID and reservoir hydraulic continuity validation, the use of modern tools to acquire PVT quality samples in conventional and hostile well/formation environments. The latest LWD formation testing technology and practice are also included in this course. Practical class exercises are worked during the course. Participants will apply the skills and lessons learned in designing better test programs, maximizing probabilities of getting quality tests, and benchmarking confidence levels to enhance results.
