Deployment Best Practices
Who Should Attend: This program is designed for Oil and Chemical Spills Technicians; Safety Officers; Team Supervisors; Environmental professionals, Allied professionals. Learning Expectations: This Health, Safety and Environment program focuses on Boom Deployment Best Practices. Participants learn how to Establish a safe and effective oil recovery operation and site; demonstrate safe boat operations on the water; Recognize health and safety issues associated with field operations involving oil recovery; Select an appropriate method of boom deployment on a river; Demonstrate the deployment of boom on water deflecting simulated oil to a recovery site down river; Select an appropriate method of protecting sensitive areas of a river with boom. At the end of the program, participants will be able to demonstrate how to read river for determination of flow rate, debris patterns in current, and selection of safe recovery locations; deploy oil recovery methods on river; gain practical and problem solving skills related to oil spill control and clean up on a river.
