Basic Petroleum Economics and Project Risk Analysis Who Should Attend: Project managers, operating managers, field personnel, chief financial officers, executive officers, technology managers, budget Managers, engineers, explorationists, field accounting supervisors and other personnel who need to develop or improve their skill and understanding of basic economic analysis and financial performance of petroleum exploration and production. Learning Expectations: Participants will learn
how to analyze, in a practical manner, the financial performance of oil
and gas investments from both projects and cooperate perspectives.
Participants learn to build financial models for typical oil and gas
projects, calculate the standard measures of project performance and
incorporate all project risks into the analysis using such processes as
scenario analysis, portfolio analysis, decision trees, tornado diagrams,
and monte carlo simulation. This course combines formal lectures along
with workshop assignments into teams, where each team analyzes a major
upstream project and presents its pre-development recommendations and
post-development recommendations and post-development results to the
company executive board.
